I would recommend this player/recorder to anyone looking for an inexpensive portable unit. There are not a lot of "bells & whistles"; it's great as a basic unit for voice recordings sitting in a classroom. This unit is perfect for the purpose I wanted it for. It's difficult to find these at all, let alone at a reasonable price. The sound is good and it is very easy to operate.
The batteries seem to rarely need changing (I've only changed them once) and I use this rather frequently. I bought this over a year ago and it has come in very handy. I used it for many things such as recording kid's music and dance practices, listening to books on tape while in the kitchen, and just having the kids singing and then listening to themselves. The sound quality may not be the best but its clear enough for everything we have used it for.
Quality is good. Small and easy to use. Sound is adequate for one person listening.

I spent twice the amount on a digital recorder but could never figure out how to save the recordings so that I could archive them.This machine is EASY to use, comes with clear instructions and has a physical tape which can be dated and stored for later reference. I highly recommend this product. I LOVE this machine. It may be old technology but for an oldster techie tard like me, it's perfect.
